Bob, or anyone else: before 9/11 ATC & NASA permitted what was called "The Shuttle Approach" to the KSC runway. Now that the Shutles are retired I wonder if those low approaches have been reinstated? I was fortunate enough to have done the approach on two occasions and it is very memorable.
Oh yes, great photos too, I've never seen the st. johns river.<!-- >'">
' or > missing in user HTML. Frank, It is now approved to fly the Shuttle Landing Facility... I was curious, as I go to Kennedy Space Center regularly. I called the base manager and he gave me the good news......Just call the tower as you would before entering into the class delta and ask for a low pass. If it is not busy they will approve down to 100 feet AGL for the full 15001 foot length of the runway..... Wouldn't it be COOL to have a flight of about 20 SeaReys doing a low pass at the SHUTTLE LANDING FACILITY!!!!!?????

I really enjoy flying low across the water Frank! ...it keeps me highly alert...except for a
jumping mullet that ended up in my co-pilot seat..all is well? Try writing that up...a bird
strike??...no...a fish strike! :-)
