That spiffy SeaRey makes those old crates look a bit tacky.

Good to hear from you again, John!

Hey now, Don, I used to own the tan old crate on the left! (good to see you back, John.)

That Lockheed Electra in the background is owned by a gentleman who wants a SeaRey. I offered to trade stick time and he may even go for it

Oops. Sorry, Steve! What are those beautiful old crates, anyway--Nieuports, maybe?

They were part of the EAA 292 Noon Patrol Project, 7/8 dcale Nieuport 11 s fromt he Graham Lee plans. 4 of them were acquired by another gentleman at KBLI after the EAA 292 group abandoned the project with most of the aircraft complete. I was involved in the first two at BLI, then 'partnership difficulties' led to a parting of the ways. Dick Starks writes a column in KitPlanes about his.

A royal PITA, it did lead to me going on my own and OspRey a year later. Attachments:

I read Dick Starks' book. Hysterically funny. Read everything he writes in KitPlanes.

Dick's book was terrific. There is now a mod to the landing gear that makes it a bit less vicious, kinda like a gator with only 4 teeth.
