Description: Chuck Cavanaugh and Heather's Dad stopped here last night on their way from Maryland to Florida. We met at KFCI and flew together to the Taj Mahouse, where Chuck's shiny LSX spent the night. Here they are catching up and tucking in shortly after we took off.

Chuck warmed up the engine for a few minutes. (The tires look stuck here, but we had already dug them out of the sand.) Attachments:

What? No pavement at the Taj Mahouse?

Alas! The Chesapeake Bay Act tests my principles. On the one hand, I really want the Bay and its tributaries--including the James River--to be clean. On the other, it would be nice to pour some concrete within 100 feet of the water. It's possible to get permission for some projects, but never easy any more. Besides, the River Jim is constantly changing the beach, so it's easier to use the sand than try to control it.

Gathering speed. They climbed to the north, into the wind, then turned southwest toward Florida and flew out of sight, heading for eternal summer.

They managed to make 42 miles before stopping at KLVL to wait out some low weather, but soon were able to go on to Cape Fear and said they were going to brave the wind from there to KSSI and the Orlando area.
Attachments:
