The City Of Tavares built a lovely linear park along the north shore of Lake Dora in the middle of the Florida peninsula. The park's theme is seaplanes with facilities to match.
Each fall and spring the City hosts a seaplane splash-in featuring flying contests. Given the proximity to Halloween today's event involved pumpkin bombing, spot landings and takeoff contests.
On a beautiful sunny 77F day with light winds, more than 20 seaplanes flew in, about half of them SeaReys. Thirteen, including five SeaReys, participated in the contests. The air boss did a fine job getting us off the water in an organized manner and formed into a large circular pattern. Each of us made three passes to drop a pumpkin on a large buoy.
Imagine my surprise to learn belatedly after 28 years of being with wife Suzanne that she is a superb pumpkin bomber. She and The Playful Pelican won first prize!
In addition to a plaque, the City gave us a $50 gift certificate to Sportys. Combined with the $20 voucher for any local restaurant given to us for just flying in, we had a financially good day too!
Anyone know how the other SeaReys did?

Great job to both of you! I'll bet a pumpkin on the Judge's stand would not win a
prize!
