Wayne, You'll get no sympathy from Northerners. My daughters call me a wimp.
But I'm with you, it's cold brrrrrr.

It's cool in Virginia, too. Even the geese who have moved here permanently from Canada seemed a bit chilly this morning at low tide:<!-- >'">
' or > missing in user HTML. Dennis, Is this the origin of the 'Polar Vortex' we've been reading about?

Dennis Vogan - Jan 07,2014 Viewers | Reply
Frank, this be it. We had -28C a week ago, followed by a (relatively) warm spell and then back to -25
today. Weekend forecast is calling for rain!

With these fast, extreme and fast temperature swings, we're experiencing a lot of 'cryoseisms'. I've
never heard this term before. With the rapid freezing of the groundwater, the earth and rock is literally
fracturing, sounding and feeling like a small earthquake. It's a bit unnerving!

Are you not in a hangar Dennis ?

Dennis Vogan - Jan 07,2014 Viewers | Reply
Hi Dave! Yes, we are in a hangar, thanks goodness.

Here are two photos from Wasaga Beach
At least the brutal temperatures and winds have moderated today.
The dogs and Gazebo are on a 14" deck. There is an even 30" of snow between me and my two friends (higher in the drifts.)
The piles of snow at the street are over my head. Don't know where I'll put another dump!
<!-- >'">
' or > missing in user HTML. The dogs seem comfortable.

I had to bring in the yard cat inside a night this week.

(many pipe breaks for us folks)

'Was going to test / take up the SR today
(after overhauling the gear system and enduring the 9 degree cold snap here in
Alabama)

... but it was IFR all day (about 50 degrees misty)
