Description: eight pilot whales died
near this pass by Lover's
Key on Monday...a pod of
23 swam into shallow
water and many became
'beached'...I searched
the local coastline on
Tuesday and am pleased
to report that most of the
pod of pilot whales found
deeper water near Marco
Island.

It always seems crazy--or stupid--when our wet cousins do that. But just imagine navigating by pilotage when you don't have a chart and the viz is less than 50 feet.
