Description: Lindsay's SeaRey was down for repair, so he consented to ride with me to Buggs Island Lake (Kerr Reservoir) for the town of Clarksville Virginia's first-ever seaplane splash-in and wine festival. (The seaplane part was no doubt an afterthought.)

We got a late start because of a pesky electrical problem and arrived dead last, after about 6 or 8 other seaplanes had filled up every last possible place for a seaplane. That made getting ashore rather interesting. But it was good in that we got to gather with a lot of great seaplane friends, several of whom managed to get my SeaRey attached to a floating dock without smashing it into the dock or the wing of a shiny Seabee in the next slip.

Here's how most of the attending seaplanes looked. (Bill Fosdick's Legend Cub and a Maule, both on floats, were out of sight.)

Bill Fosdick (who now flies a Legend Cub instead of the trusty SeaRey he had for years) was there to help us dock.      Attachments:

A view from the bottom of the hill. That's Lindsay in the foreground, in front of Bob Woodward's Seabee. And the best shots I got of Bob and Penny Woodward's caps and (I think) E.T. Tello's face.      Attachments:

It was great to see you Don, and to meet Lindsay. Let's do it again! Good luck to Lindsay getting his bird flying again.

So, being last, you took the last train to Clarksville? Sorry, couldn't pass up the Monkeys business.
