Description: Perhaps you Delmarva flyers (Delaware, Maryland, Virginia for those
not familiar with the term) might recognize this area? Over
Solomon’s Island flying the B-25 “Panchito” from Georgetown, DE.

We were conducting flight training with the Navy Test Pilot School at
Patuxent, MD. It was a nice surprise on one of our departures to the
practice area and I hear a SeaRey calling to get a clearance to depart
under the restricted area.

Paul, that was probably either Buck, who was about to fly down to meet me at FCI and fly the James, or Austin, who was flying locally. They both live at an airpark nearby.

Paul, I didn't know that was you flying Panchito. Heard you as well several times over the past week+. Saw you come in from
Georgetown on the Marine Corps birthday if I recall correctly. I enjoyed that same view with my daughter at Searey altitude at sunset
last night after splashing with Don on the James River earlier in the afternoon.

Hi Buck, I thought that may have been you. Wish we could have “dropped in” on you. I was the
acting safety pilot while the test
pilots are flying with our instructor, but I did get to fly it in from GED. I was only there for the past
week but the plane will be there
for the next 2 weeks, so you’ll see them again.
I’m really hoping to bring my SeaRey back to Delmarva and will look forward to joining up with you
& Don.

Dang, Paul, I didn't know you were with Panchito, I've been volunteering in Sun n Fun Air Ops the last several years, I would have said Hi.

How did the jocks handle a REAL airplane?

Hey Steve, yep I was at S n’ F and will probably be there again in April. Hope to meet you there.
The Test Pilots did very well. They seem to get to fly a variety of airplanes and, as you can’t imagine, they come completely prepared.
That ol’ bird is not easy to fly, so it’s kinda refreshing to see somebody else sweating in that seat for a change! LOL.

Paul, I got to sit in Panchito's left seat once, a few years ago--but alas it was in the hangar at GED.
