Wayne, that bike shows up in odd places, like "Where's Waldo?"
I remember you posted a review about it here once, but can't find it. The JupiterBike.com site says the folded size is 16.3" x 20.5". How thick is it? Or more to the point, will it fit into a Searey's baggage compartment? Will TWO fit at the same time?

In order to get to the new ramp, I needed ground transportation. When I spoke with the tower they said in order to cruise down the taxiway, I would need a radio. Hence, the radio in the picture.
Don, I know one will fit. I usually put it in the empty seat , but I have placed it in the back. It is 5 1/2 inches at its widest point.
If anyone wishes to purchase, mention Wayne Nagy. The company should give you a $100 discount. I have had friends state that they honored this. They agreed to this because they received orders from people who saw my videos. I receive no compensation other than the satisfaction that I have helped a fellow pilot.

As a powered vehicle, I believe this will require registration and plates in some states (maybe including inspections). If you fly across state lines, you may want check that state's vehicle laws before using this on their roads.

Mark, that has been the big problem all along. I haven't checked lately, but when I did a few years ago the legality varied widely by state and even by community within a state. In Virginia, for example, it was legal to have up to a certain amount of power ASSIST if the vehicle had pedals because it was treated as a bicycle. But remove the pedals and the same vehicle was treated as a motor vehicle. If it had little enough power it was a moped and required registration and a helmet, but not a drivers license. One cc bigger engine and it was a motorcycle and needed registration, and the rider needed a state drivers licence and a motorcycle endorsement. And a helmet.
But then a couple of years ago several electric scooter companies dropped hundreds of scooters on the streets of Richmond in the dark of one night, and everything blew up--but only in Richmond and, I think, the DC area and Norfolk. I haven't checked the state vehicle code since then, but I'll bet it's still screwy.

For Searey pilots, the other big question is Will it fit in the airplane? And its derivatives, Will it fit in bags? and Will TWO fit in bags? and Can I carry it on the struts?
Until Wayne found the JupiterBike, the only one I knew of that would fit into the baggage compartment was the A-Bike Electric. That one has pedals, so it's a legal bike probably everywhere. And it folds smaller than JupiterBike--but that means the wheels are really small, too. It has solid tires, like JupiterBike, but only about half their diameter. The original pedals-only version is not much fun to ride, but I imagine the electric version is probably acceptable on smooth pavement. It's about the same price in the US, but half the price elsewhere.

Hey, Wayne! I was snooping around the Jupiter Bike website and came across a video with one of them in a Searey! Here's a link to the complete video (the one called "5 Reasons Aviators Need a Jupiter Bike") and a video I took of the Searey part of it.
Not sure whether I'll buy one (or two), but it sure is tempting.

That was in my friends Searey (Dan McKenzie's) a couple of years ago, in my booth at Sebring. The guy in the video came up to us and said he had someone interested in buying one for his Searey and asked if he could fit in the baggage area. He was offering a $100 off at the show.

The majority of ebikes are 400-500 watts. If it has pedals and power in that range, I do not believe any state requires registration. However, if you drive on road like a car vs sidewalk like a bike...you are inviting trouble. The real issue now is the next motorcycle I will purchase. 100% electric and they do 45 mph now for 75 miles. When they can 65 for that far...I am buying for my motor home. Dual purpose, on-off road, weigh next to nothing, no gas or oil smell in the campers garage.
