Sorry Steve, did the Blue Moon contribute to the tide?

Steve, you have a very interesting back yard, with all sorts of attractive furnishings. And the view through the trees looks lovely--what body of water is that?

The ironic thing is that on the other side of the trees is the high school gym, the water is a result of runoff from it, and the channel is on the other side of the road.

Our house is the big one with all the solar panels. I was nervous about being next to the school, but it's turned out to be perfect. Kids are gone by 3pm, it's quiet in the summer. It's a 31 year old house with a 30 year warranty, we're almost all caught up with repairs/updates. I hope.

Ha! I sure didn't look at your photo as closely as I thought. What I took to be horizontal greyish water must be the vertical side of the school building. That looks like a big solar array. Will it power the whole house? (I've been trying to figure out whether to install panels on our roof--but it turned into an actuarial problem with no easy answer.)

It's really hard to tell from the photo, the previous owners/builders did a great job planting trees to block the school.
I was pretty skeptical about solar, but when I ran the numbers the rebates are so good in in WA it was stupid not to make the investment. About a 5 year payoff, and our system is a bit oversized, but we wanted to maximize the rebates. In the summer we power the neighbor's house with our excess output. http://www.ecotechsolar.com/
Without getting too political, it's frustrating that the states where solar would be the most effective (NV, AZ, FL, etc), are being limited by politics https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/the-koch-brothers-dirty-war-on-solar-power-20160211
but they tide is turning https://www.reviewjournal.com/business/casinos-gaming/solar-array-to-power-wynns-paradise-park-in-las-vegas/
and even Warren Buffett-long anti-solar because of his holdings in fossil fuel companies-is coming around. https://www.cnbc.com/2017/05/06/warren-buffett-says-hes-got-a-big-appetite-for-a-solar-or-wind-project.html
Like the old saying goes, if they could tax the sun, we'd have had solar power years ago.
