I think someone put their kit together wrong, one of those seareys has an extra wing!! Not that I’m gealous or anything...

Is it too snotty to say "Too bad that the Super Petrel needs two wings to do what a Searey does with only one"?

Wayne Nagy - Jan 10,2018   Viewers  | Reply
Not really, Don. Because other than a little extra cruise speed, it does not perform as well in a variety of conditions as a Searey does
with one. :-)

But the pilot is great and we welcome ALL birds of a similar feather to fly with us! :-)

Wayne, the truth is that I've always thought they look cool. I've seen several up close, but have never been up in one.

Fit and Finish is outstanding...lots of composite construction...flies stable...extra knots cruise...lots of high tech glass...

Issues for my missions....canopy HEAT (sun)...small wheels and nose wheel (soft area concerns)...lots of issues with the high tech
glass...lower wing drag in chop...weight and balance ( built in water ballast issues)

Good catch Brian. This is a close up of the third aircraft. It, indeed, has 2 sets of wings!! :-)      Attachments:

Years ago I was at Daytona Beach when that 747 with a shuttle attached flew close offshore on it's way home. What a sight! Unfortunately I didn't have a camera with me.
