All of this beauty while I was under my SR doing repairs. 😞

I feel your pain, Frank. But it is hard to feel sorry for someone who owns a beautiful waterfront
home on a private island in the
middle of all of the waterways shown above! :-) (Tan house behind the boat wake...an absolutely
PERFECT location in the middle of
paradise!)

We like the location immensely Wayne, tho it lacks any provisions for a SeaRey. 😓 Oops, that's not quite true, it had a basement
large enough to build one.

So are you guys enjoying the dark fresh water you are being served courtesy of Lake Okeechobee and the Corpse of Engineers? No need to rinse the salt off now?      Attachments:

I'll never be accused of defending the Corpse of Engineers, but the biggest truth in the ""Environmental Distaster?"" Dan, is the
question mark. The piece in sensationalized. There was 12"" of rain in January, which is our 'dry season'! The Lake O reached
near the top of the rickety berm, the Corps had no choice but to let some water out to keep the old berm from breaking. Yea, we had
a few days of odd colored water and some red tide (nothing to do with this), and judging from the traffic not one tourist when home.
Some anecdotal stories of tough fishing, but the local guides are still cleaning their catches at the marinas. Oh, I guess a few tourists
didn't want to swim the beach for a couple of days and used the pools instead. Bottom line: All our SWFL waters are ugly as sin, and
no tourists should even think of coming here. IMHO

Well, the problem with estuaries is that they can't make up their mind to be salt or fresh. What is needed is a remote sensor on our SeaReys to detect salinity before splashing. Or just wash anyway and don't worry about it. So, your SWFL waters are ugly? Have you and Wayne been Photoshopping then?

Viewer warning! This was not taken from a Searey. View at your own risk! :-) This video that I took (and my son , Brent, edited)
clearly shows the nice clear water below while returning from St Pete and then the effects of the fresh water dumping far into the Gulf
at the mouth of the Caloosahatchee. Mother Nature is already clearing up the mess, but it will take awhile.

That was a little scary, Wayne, being so low in a transport category heavy, but that just makes the visual impact of the water even more dramatic!

Carr, Frank  - Mar 22,2016   Viewers  | Reply
OK. In the interest of objectivity, the Corpse did dump some stuff our way as Wayne admits above.
Here's a SeaRey view of some
of it around Sanibel Island.

The Corpse is now into water coloring? Looks like a very nice flight, Frank.
