Thanks, Randy! That's the best glassy-water video ever!

Thanks, too, for identifying the camera. I had seen a couple of other 360fly videos recently (one was yours) but had no idea about the camera until now.

More a reflection than a shadow, isn't it?

Makes me think of an article in SPA mag several months ago, where the author advocated using a plane's reflection like this as a means of judging height above glassy water while landing. He was thoroughly flamed for it by long-time seaplane instructors, and SPA took a lot of heat for even printing the article.

What a superb video, Randy! Well shot (and I credit the videographer, with only minor applause for his equipment).

Thanks Don, Mark, Dan. The beauty of editing is you did not see the first landing! It wasn't bad but I did hop once.
I like the 360fly camera but the software which is mandatory for editing is not really ready for practical use yet. It is crashes a lot. There is a new software version coming any day now so hopefully it will fix some stuff. The video quality could be better. The camera is recording a lot of information - essentially a half sphere of angles so video likely can't be exceptional with out a lot of processing power and big storage. It is a well built little camera slightly larger than a golf ball. The editing of this video was done on my iPhone in what is called the ""watch me"" mode. As I hold the camera in this mode I move it through the 360 space to capture the angles of view I want. So for instance to pan from front to rear I actually turned my body 180 degrees to get that view while hold the camera steady in front of me. The watch me mode then actually produces a standard video which can then be edited with any software. The 360 view which you can use the mouse to move the angle of view must be edited with the 360fly software. Another fun thing with the 360 video is you can put the iPhone in a Google cardboard virtual reality viewer and play it that way. As the viewer moves so does his angle of view. This was a big hit a a recent hanger party / cookout recently.

Randy, that's quite a view, but what impresses me is that you're flying into the sun and landing on glassy water. That's not an easy
feat! It's interesting to see you're reflections in the cockpit of holding the stick and what appears to be reaching out to acknowledge
the ""water landing""? Great stuff!

Paul, thanks for your kind comments. I bought my plane in Feb 2015 and have really enjoyed the flying experience. I am now about to get my 100 hour inspection. I am also fortunate to have lots of water nearby. That lake is 2.3 miles from my home field so I drop in there almost every time at end of day if the lake is not busy with boaters. I know it very well and have been able to practice glassy water there many times.
