Thanks for sharing. Glad you guys had blue skies. Looks like a great turnout.

Yeah! (Dennis and I are still en route. Not really, but we did talk about it.)

Next year, Don. Next year. We have 12 months to get the bugs out and mods done. I'm loving only working on Wednesdays.

Darn it, I'd love to join up with you and Don, and wing down together, if my time and job permits next year. It's just that I've never flown south of Maine and the northeast/DC ATC mess is intimidatiing to me. Would love to wing down with another from here to VA or NC.
Bet there hasn't been a Stingray at Garners yet.

A bunch of the Chesapeake area folk have done the east coast trip to and from the factory a few times. I (and I'm sure others)
would be happy to talk you through it by phone some time if you want. As Don says, its easy to avoid the SFRA and it is a splendid
trip.

One main issue is, I don't have a transponder in mine, and not sure I'll be adding one. Most of my flying doesn't need one, and I don't know if I want the cost and certification hassles.

Not a big deal, Mark. Just stay out of B and C airspace and more than 60 nm from DC.

Yep, but I still would love to wing down with someone from New England anyway.

Mark, I felt the same intimidation before my trip from Tampa to upstate NY. Took the free on line training for DC airspace, used flt
following and kept both GPS and paper map in hand while near DC. It went very smoothly and everyone controllers couldn't have
been more friendly. It was a big confidence builder.

As I recall, Mark, Paige flew his StingRay to Garner's back in a.d. 2000 or 2001--so it's clearly time for yours to show up there. But I'll bet nobody has ever flown a StingRay down the Hudson River VFR route and past the Statue of Liberty. (You don't have to talk to ATC, just announce your position now and then.) And the DC mess is easy to avoid. Just stay a little to the east and pass over Buck Bray's house, between the DC mess and the PAX River NAS. It's a great trip!
