Description: As I entered the pattern for FMY, I realized I must have picked a very
desirable place to live. Two of the wealthiest respected men of their
time were neighbors below ...Thomas Edison in the red roofed home
and Henry Ford in the Gray roofed home next door. They could
afford to have homes anywhere and they picked Southwest Florida.

That was just Edison's vacation home..he spent most time of his time in NJ. I think the other house is Henry Ford's (though Firestone was part of the gang too). Have you toured the estates (on the ground)?

Well Eric, yes and no. It was his vacation home, but he had quite a laboratory across the street so he wasn't always just vacationing.
A bit 'old fashion' but quite fascinating. And yes, the 3 of them were good friends. Every wonder why Fords use to have Firestone
tires? And if you live in Fort Myers, you have toured the Edison Estate, especially at Christmas time.
