Description: The landing had gone smoothly and the airplane was slowing for the turnoff when one brake failed and the airplane slewed around. The sideload was too much for the landing gear leg, and it snapped off just inside the fuselage. There were no injuries.

No telling what the FAA and NTSB will say about it, but I know the pilot, who has thousands of hours without a previous accident, and I'm confident that this one was not pilot error.

While working the seaplane base at OSH last year, a 195 showed up on amphibious floats. It was beautifully done in the maroon, black, and aluminum. It belonged to a flight operation on the Ohio River near Cincinnati - very nice folks running a float operation there. I think their name was Shaw.

Just aren't enough round engines left.... Sorry to see anoth3r 195 go down!

Gene Hammond.

This one will probably fly again. It had been restored recently, and the same shop is going to work on it again. The wing spar appeared to be okay, so it mainly needs sheet metal work on the wing and fuselage. The engine was idling, so it's probably not too badly damaged.

Ouch. My brother has a 195 in a hanger in GA. Was in perfect shape when he parked it 20+ years ago.

My first airplane ride was in a -195. This makes my heart sad....
