Jeff, Thanks for doing this. Are you going to setup a camera so we analyze our landings Thanks again.

Jeff Holbrook - Feb 01,2007 Viewers | Reply
John, It's funny you mention that and or you were around when this was discussed. We have considered installing a camera looking down the slalom course and awarding some kind of prize to the most accurate landing.

Jeff, thanks for hosting the fly in. I am making plans to attend. I prefer Sunday as it would require one less day off work to attend the fly in and the first day of SnF. If only I were retired.........

Yes Dennis, we will have to coordinate. My current plan would be to leave early Saturday, Attend the fly-in Sunday. Visit friends in south Florida Monday. Attend SnF Tuesday and return home Wednesday. Would love to stay longer, but have that job thing going on.

There are two big changes in the Lake Parker splash-ins (according to an article in the January/February 2007 Water Flying).

1. The location will be different.

2. The experimental and ultralight splash-in will be on Friday, and the production one on Thursday.

Here's the article: Attachments:

    Don,

I stayed in this hotel last year for S&F / Garners. It's a bit of a dump, but it has free WiFi that works. I just reserved a room for the entire week (4/14 - 4/21) for only $250! Call them 1-888-75-SWEET, don't use on-line booking for the best price. Don't mind the full time residents. Park and lock it.
Don Maxwell - Feb 09,2007 Viewers | Reply
Eric--so THAT's the dump you were staying in last year! Oho. Do you think a SeaRey tied up there for several nights would be safe? Is there a beach or ramp sufficient to get one out of the water?

Eric Batterman - Feb 10,2007 Viewers | Reply
Don, I didn't really take a close look at the beach, and I don't think there's a ramp. Maybe you could ramp it at Jack Browns (10 NM east)?

Don Maxwell - Feb 10,2007 Viewers | Reply
Does anyone know what the shoreline is like where this year's SNF splash-in will be? The aerial photos I've found online don't have good enough resolution to tell much about it. Is beaching possible there, or does the shore slope too steeply for that?

I think the location is in the little bay at N28-03-30 W081-56-45 .

You can taxi from GIF to Jack Brown's.

Eric Batterman - Feb 09,2007 Viewers | Reply
Jeff, Thanks for hosting the party. Can you nail down Sunday as the day?

Jeff Holbrook - Feb 10,2007 Viewers | Reply
Eric, So far its still Sunday and the chances are high that it will stay that way for the flyers comming from a-far. Also, for those that are comming from a-far, should they arrive on Saturday they are welcome land at my house and stay the night. There are a few hotels about two miles from my house that we could shuttle people back a forth from. I also have one or two extra vehicles that could be used. along with a 'Granny' aparment on the property with one double bed and one small single all in the same room that can be had be the first person that calls 'dibs' on it for either or Sat. and or Sunday night.

Don Maxwell - Feb 10,2007 Viewers | Reply
Jeff, we all echo Eric: Thank you for keeping this annual SeaRey shindig going!

Sigh, I've accepted the reality that my 'Rey (Swoosh Too) won't be ready for this splash-in, nor Sun'n'Fun.

Anyone planning to attend from the ORL - SFB area have an extra seat? I could easily hook up with someone at either airport, though ORL would be preferable. I sure would hate to drive, but...

Jeff, you're doing fine. I've never liked MyFamily's polls.

I think the only way to do it is to include a separate question for each possible size and quantity. So you'd have something like

1 small
2 small
3 small
1 medium
2 medium

and so on. What's even dumber is that in most browsers not owned by Bill Gates, the question is on one line and the button to click for it is on another--so it's easy to click the wrong one.

Jeff Arnold - Apr 05,2007 Viewers | Reply

Sppoke with Gary Johnson who was very helpful.

He suggested I could fly into Osbourne field (02fa) and maybe hitch a ride over. Map quest says its about 7.5 miles). The manager is a pleasent lady who will let me fly in. Wonder if I could hook up a ride?

It all depends a bit on the weather, as we are coming down the coast friday/ saturday

02fa is actually about 15 miles from my house. it would not be a problem getting you a ride from there, either by SeaRey or car. my house is directly north of 02fa and we will be monitoring 123.375 on the radio. You could fly-by the house (N28.36 W81.50) and call us on the radio. OPTION (2) there is a closer field (06FD) Grass Roots Airpark, Runways 36/18 3400x120 ft. Turn. This a new, only open less than 1 year. smothest gass strip in the area. It is only about 3 miles from my house.

Call me at 352-267-3402
