Hi Gang:

Let's see if I can get this video address posted.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FamwhKUp0FU

If I managed to do it correctly, you should be able to view my A-24 completing a circuit or two on the first decent day we have had up here for weeks.

It was fun doing the video and I have much to learn as will be obvious. Having to water down the HD video (which is crisp and clear) to allow it to be posted on YOUTUBE is a bit discouraging.

Best,
Larry

I enjoyed the video, Larry, and the A-24 seems to fly nicely--but I gotta tell ya: that is the weirdest looking SeaRey I've ever seen. Kinda gives me the willies. Looks chilly up there. Winter ended two days ago here in the mid-Atlantic region. It was 58 F. today.

    Hi Don:

Glad you liked the video. Too bad it doesn't seem possible to post up HD video on You tube as it really came out exceptionally clear and bright.

I can appreciate your perspective about how the A-24 looks, what with the huge number of SeaReys around. Of course 'beauty' is in the eye of 'Mother Air Mass' as well as in the eye of the beholder. Mother Air Mass seems to love the bird as it sure handles delightfully and 'the beholder', your humble scribe, thinks it is a beauty.
Goes to show that 'There is no accounting for taste'. (g)

By the way, if you want to see the epitomy of a weird looking but wickedly efficient aircraft, it's hard to beat my 300 mph Venture. Now that is a bird that only its pilot, (or the owner of a King Air when it is being passed) would consider 'good looking'. (VBG)

Yesterday was actually quite pleasant as it got up to around 32 degrees F.

Best,
Larry

Larry, it wasn't until watching your video that I got that "weird SeaRey" feeling--and it surprised me. I'd noticed a lot of superficial similarities in still photos, but they didn't really hit me until seeing you retract the gear in the video. That looks very SeaRey. And then I kept thinking--no, feeling--whoa, engine up front and what's with the horizontal stabilizer? It's an interesting psychological phenomenon.
It also would be interesting to fly both airplanes, one right after the other, and see how that feels. I mean, to experience them both subjectively in the same conditions.

That gets a four star rating for early morning entertainment, Larry. Good show!

    Hi Don:

There are few things I enjoy more than sharing flying with my friends. Come on up (perhaps for John's 'Gaggle'?) and we can have a ball doing that 'one-after-the-other' comparison. It would be good fun.

Hi Dan:

Thanks for the nice comments. They are appreciated.

Best,
Larry

Dave a Mr Heim? (Ex AC pilot) not sure on the spelling but he dropped by my hanagar today and asked me to say Hi to you.

He flys a C150 but trying to talk him into a SeaRey.
Should be an easy sell Frank. Brock and his father were both AC pilots and , I think, were float qualified. Good luck!
