If anyone has a Lightspeed XCc at Sun-n-Fun and would like to compare it with the Zulu, Dave Clark, Bose, and Telex on Lightspeed's demo machine, playing an in-cockpit recording of a SeaRey taking off, please give me a call. 804-543-7110. They didn't have an XCc today, but the Zulu seemed better to me than the others did.

Don: Tony G flew down there Sunday and I feel sure he used his new XCc headset. He is camping in the ultralight section. Call his cell at: 704-907-4323.

Thanks, Dennis. I'm probably not going to have time to get back to Lightspeed's booth, but I'll give the recording to Jeff Arnold, who may.

Did they have a 'show special' price?

I don't think so, Dennis. I gave the recording to Jeff Arnold, who said he might pass it on to Tony G. if he could find him before heading home.

I liked the Zulu a lot better than the Bose, by the way. It has better passive noise attenuation, so the ANR circuit doesn't have to work as hard. Clamping pressure was low and it was more comfortable to wear than the Bose. The Bose felt like it was blowing my ears in when I turned the ANR on, and it was somewhat louder in the test setup than the Zulu. Dave Clark and Telex were also louder than Zulu.

I had to wonder why Lightspeed didn't have even one pair of the Cross Country XCc's in their booth. Was it an oversight? Or an intentional omission?

Dan Nickens has XCc's in his SeaRey and Lightspeed um Thirty Three G's, is it? in his Maule. Says the XCc's are quieter in the SeaRey.

Don, sorry - I have failed you. Got back to SnF after 7p Thrusday and departed EARLY Friday to beat the weather. Guess you will have to go ahead with the 30 day trial.

No prob, Jeff. I may go for the 30 day thing, although several Lightspeed reps have told me they couldn't promise that the Zulu will be any quieter than a Cross-Country in a SeaRey. If it's not, then I'm not sure that the bluetooth cellphone link and the cool look would justify the price.

I guess you made it home okay, yes?

Gee, I guess they should just raise the price of the XCc's!
