It's almost like the Good Old Days again! I gassed up the SeaRey on Sunday for $1.789 a gallon.

100LL at my airport is still $5.50.

BUT, on a related note, all auto gas here in Maine now contains 10% ethanol. Haven't burned that yet in mine, hope I don't have any problems.

Mark, I've been using MOGAS with 10% ethanol for several years with no problems whatsoever.

Mark, Don, are you sure your gas has ethanol? I test mine and have found that many pumps say they have Ethanol but don't. The pump at Sheets said it had 10% Ethanol and I tested it and it was pure gas. Asked the manager and he said it had Ethanol which just went to show that he didn't know.

Jeff, I usually buy gas for the SeaRey at a Wawa near the airport (because it's a high-volume station). I've never tested it, but will.

I think the safe thing to do is assume that the ethanol is there.

All pumps up here now have a sticker reading 'contains 10% ethanol'. I've always actually assumed some percentage of ethanol has been in our gas for years, since I never see any water from my gascolator (alchohol absorbs water). I don't have time nor the desire to test my gas for ethanol each time I go to the pumps....especially in the winter.

I feel bad for the certified plane owners with their autogas STC's, which prohibit any alchohol. (a little, anyway). The airports with plain mogas are few and far between up here.
