Hello to all seareyer's...although sun n fun is nearing us it is still a lil ways away. So, in the meantime, why not have an excuse to fly those lil boats to a party. I spoke with Thomas today and he wants to fill his spacious backyard with some aircraft. The date is Sunday Feb 21st beginning at 10:00 a.m. He lives on 'Island Lake' in Umatilla, Fl which I believe is just north of Tavares. I am atattching an aerial photo so yo can spot his house from the air. He has a cement boat ramp allowing for taxi onto shore should you choose to do so. Thomas will reply to this posting with the GPS coor. later today. We will be grilling hot dogs and burgers and looking forward to seeing everyone out there. His house is located on the east side of the lake. Should you have any questions feel free to call me or thomas. Hopefully weather will bless us with a great day for flying. Attachments:

Shoot, you could do a land landing with that yard!

Thomas Alexander Bowden - Feb 06,2010 Viewers | Reply
I would not recommend a land landing. The yard is ruff and may break a gear leg.
Also it is only 750 feet from the street to the house and there are power lines at the street.

Kenneth Leonard - Feb 06,2010 Viewers | Reply
I said you could do it in jest - I far prefer water landings anyway. Much more forgiving.

John w Shirah - Feb 08,2010 Viewers | Reply
Hope to see you out there Ken! One day some of us will have to fly down and check out your pad.

Kenneth Leonard - Feb 08,2010 Viewers | Reply
John, I can't make it. My dashboard is in the garage being totally rewired. You are welcome to visit here with a little notice though.

John w Shirah - Feb 08,2010 Viewers | Reply
I will have to take u up on that sometime soon ken. I am working on having my own plane this year but if
someone else is available with their plane then maybe we can visit for the day soon. Any good spots near
You to fly onto for food?

Kenneth Leonard - Feb 09,2010 Viewers | Reply
Two spots John - my grill does a mean dog or cheeseburger. There is also a restaurant (Tarpon Turtle) 8 miles WNW of my place, on lake Tarpon that welcomes seaplanes but only has a large dock and seawall - no obvious beaching that I saw. I've got reserves the weekend of 20-21, but any other time should work. I'm off this Friday-Monday.

John w Shirah - Feb 09,2010 Viewers | Reply
What lake do u live on and what's the gps coor. ?

Kenneth Leonard - Feb 09,2010 Viewers | Reply
Lake Church. You can see my plane in the back yard at: 28 deg 06' 06.60' N by 82 deg 36' 09.60' W
10523 Lake Williams Drive, Odessa, FL 33556
Please do come by (with a phone call first) and please don't buzz the neighbors. We had a Yellow RV doing barrel rolls a couple hundred feet over the neighborhood Sunday and I caught some flack over it - no idea who it was.

John w Shirah - Feb 10,2010 Viewers | Reply
I completely understand ken. We have to abide by those same rules on lake prairie. The more rural lakes
out in clermont and mt Dora area are better for shoreline cruises but pretty much all the inner city lakes
you can only land on and not play around on. And we will definitley call before an attempt is made to fly
down there. Have a good weekend

Daniel Paul Myers - Feb 06,2010 Viewers | Reply
Count me in. I hope we can get a nice turn out for this, I know Thomas has been wanting to do it for a while. I'm sure we can all pitch in a few bucks for the food? Let me know if I can help in anyway...I think I know of a few guys that would want to go ;-)

Jack McGrath - Feb 06,2010 Viewers | Reply
Sounds good, count me in. Daniel can I hook up with you and fly over together?

Who is planning on going? John: will there be only SeaRey guys or will there be future seareys/other pilots present? Should we bring donations or food? (or both). Weather.com predicts 68 degrees and sunny for te 21st. Sounds good!

John w Shirah - Feb 13,2010 Viewers | Reply
It's an open invite to whoever wants to come. Thomas I believe is doing hot dogs and burgers. Or we can
all chip in for pizza or something. I'll call thomas today and find out. I am bringing a few girlfriends that
want to go for rides as well if anyone wants to take them. I'll also call later today Daniel

Daniel Paul Myers - Feb 13,2010 Viewers | Reply
Cool. Kim is coming but I am picking her up at GatorJoe's so if anyone wants to fly up there first in formation, come on. Looking forward to it! Maybe I'll show off my new Panel ;-)

Some one flew over my house about 4:pm while I was cleaning the screen patio and I waved and he landed on the lake. I started to walk down to the lake to show him the ramp, but he took off. Who was it? Did you see me?

Daniel Paul Myers - Feb 13,2010 Viewers | Reply
Thomas, what is your address? I invited a guy who may be buying a SeaRey that I am selling to get him motivated...

Just as a reminder to all florida flyers out there...the fly-in is coming up next sunday. We look forward to seeing everyone out there. Also, make sure to donate to thomas for the food and drinks. Anyone who is planning on coming whether flying or driving please let us know so we can calculate for a correct amount of food. I know so far that there are going to be about ten or so people coming so far and that daniel meyers is flying out there, possibly Greg Burtner and Phil Mendelson. We would love to have more planes out there since there will be plenty of room. So, let us know and have a great week seareyer's.

Thomas Alexander Bowden - Feb 19,2010 Viewers | Reply
OK, Here is the itinerary. Planes landing in the lake, look for the flag pole on the east shore with a Blue Sea Plane Flag. The cement ramp is to the right of the flag pole.
Car drivers look for a black mail box on the west side of the street. Another blue flag will be on the front yard flag pole. Drive up the yard and park in the grass next to the other cars that will be parked there.
Every one please sign the guest book upon arrival and get your free door prize ticket and put your first and last name on a name tag and stick it on your chest so I can put names to faces.
Official start time is 10:AM but you can come earlier, I will start the cooking about 11:30.
Door prize drawing is at 1:PM If enough people is interested in a 50/50 raffle, then we can do that to.
I will be selling the PA SeaRey Polo Shirts for PA for $25.00 to any one that wants one.
Their may be some neighbors at the party that may want a short flight if any one is willing.
Bring blankets to sit and eat on, We are short on tables and Charis.
So-far I heard that 12 planes are coming and about 27 SeaRey people and 7 others are coming.

John w Shirah - Feb 19,2010 Viewers | Reply
