I have a meeting at the Orlando Convention Center on April 28,29 and 30th (wed-fri). I plan on landing my Searey at Kissimmee. Are there any other suitable sites (wet or dry) that I could tie up for a couple of days? I would also need to know the distance so I could figure taxi fare. I make it a habit to fly my Searey to any meetings out of Lee County (Ft. Myers) Florida. I was fortunate enough to fly to Leeward Air Ranch, Tampa and Tallahassee in the last month. What a great way to enjoy Florida!<!-- >'"><br><font color=red size=6>' or &gt; missing in user HTML. Please fix the HTML.</font> -->

Wayne - next time you come to Tampa, you can always tie up here.

Thanks Ken! My brother was a US Airways pilot for 32 years...he retired in Lutz (Cheval)...where are you from there? <br />I was just thinking of business related trips when I initially wrote this ...but the BEST trip recently was to Garner's Landing! Lou Ann was wonderful!...Russ...you're a lucky guy!

We've got a friend in Cheval and I flew her over her home last year. Cheval is 6 miles at 60 degrees from my lake.

Sounds fantastic, Ken! I am going to Orlando by way of Tampa...to see my brother...on Tuesday late afternoon/evening. I will stay at my brother, John's house overnight and head out Wednesday morning. I will give you a call! <br />PS I when I pulled up your house on Google Earth ...I can see your Searey!

Wayne, there is usually room at SFB on the SE Ramp for a visiting plane and if not there would be room in <br />my hanger for your plane for a few days. SFB is a lot farther from the convention center though. I have no <br />idea what the taxi fare would be but there are car rental places on and near the field. There is 100LL but no <br />mogas.

I really appreciate the offer, Dave. Actually, I have a good relationship with Kissimmee and it would be closer... but I am always looking for different place to alight...I meet some great people doing this.

KISM is the best, they're familiar with Searey aircraft because I used to base mine there for 2 years. I use Atlantic Aviation on the west ramp (formerly Trajen if you remember those days) and the ramp staff are understanding of ground handling our type of a/c. <br />Their number is (407) 846-8001<br />If you get stuck, FA78 is our seaplane base 7 nm SE of KMCO and 14 nm E of KISM, I'll be training Wed, Thurs but unavailable Friday.

Atlantic Aviation now called Ranger Jet Center (buy out). Your information saved me a bunch of money! Signature wanted $28 handling and $15 per night. Joe at Ranger really likes Seareys...he lived near Travares...cost to tie down...$0 ! Plus he gave me cookies! :-)

I am looking for a place to tie up for a couple of hours ...preferably Wellington airstrip or anywhere in the vicinity of west of West Palm Beach International...wet or dry. I originally planned on flying to Travares on Saturday, but I need to see my daughter in West Palm Beach. Any ideas? Contacts? Thank you once again for assisting a Searey traveler! I am located in Ft Myers, Fl.
