There's a very nice article about Charlie Pickett's Legend Cub on amphibious floats in the October Plane & Pilot magazine (James Lawrence, 42-45).

Glad your still kicking Charlie. This is a very good article, and a beautiful cub. It looks the the photo was
at Browns.

HAS to be legend, Dennis! If we knew that Charlie was dead I might call it an elegy. If we weren't sure, a myth. But the article is about his Legend, so his health isn't relevant.

'Looking out the open side door, I notice the cable between the float noses. That keeps the floats
from doing the splits, like we all did learning to water ski.'
If he's referring to the crossover cable, he's severely mistaken haha!

Remember, Greg, he's the same James Lawrence who wrote that effusive, glowing article about the SeaRey in the July issue.
That's the article whose subtitle calls the SeaRey Amphibian "....THE ULTIMATE HYBRID BIRD."
And it's where he says, "Here's an airplane you'd have to try to screw up really badly to get into trouble with. After five more minutes and some water landings of my own, I feel I could easily and safely solo the SeaRey--and I'm not even floatplane rated (yet)."<!-- >'">
' or > missing in user HTML.
