Cheer up, Steve. Now you can fly from the front seat.

Nice formation takeoff, by the way. Did the car ever get airborne?

Ummm wonder what color the Searey will be?

Had a 1939 J3 for about a year and it was fun. However my Searey
has taken the fun factor to a new level and opened up a new world of
flying. I have been flying the crap out of the Searey for numerous years
and can't get enough of it.

Great video Steve, but looks like there's a considerable tear in your eye.

Small Tear for the Cub yes, BUT with the Sea Rey- I can take 83 yr old Mother and my
Brother (with brain cancer) for a comfortable ride finally. I can fly down the Salton Sea,
Colorado River, Lake Powel, Havasu, Big Bear and Mead without worrying as much that
the engine doesn't fail on me and I end up with my tail sticking up out of the water! For me
the Sea Rey is The Tool that fits the job. I'm extremely Up about the whole adventure!
One of the nicest attributes of flying it is the concept of turning almost every body of water
into a twenty mile long emergency runway, rather than being a hazard.

Amen, Steve. I feel the same way about having mine up in Puget Sound. There are more and more 'Reys arriving in Puget Sound every year, if you migrate up this far you'll have a lot of playmates.

Plus, with a SeaRey I can hold hands or play footsie with my favorite copilot (I'm not putting in the LSX center console.).

Steve - before getting the 83 yr old mother inside the rey, strongly suggest you put a sling on the seat so you can have people help lift her out. My upper 80's mother enjoyed her ride but I darn near had to call the fire department to get her out of the plane!
I have a friend with MS who I want to take flying but no way to get him in - so I'm working on a bosuns' chair and will sling him in/out from my hanger beam. We talked about emergency water evacuation and he said he'd risk it for a ride.

Yeah, that's one of the few disadvantages of a SeaRey. I had a young, but heavy passenger once who almost couldn't get out, even with me pulling as hard as I could.

Roger that- It's still 1000% better than the front seat of a J3 Cub!
