Sparkling day today.

Flew with Mike. (Commercial float plane pilot as instructor) Our lake was flat calm (and at 2,000 ft elevn) and Jemima was slow as molasses to get up and slower to go. Climb out was pretty heavy too. OAT was up to 69 deg at 5,000 ft, brilliant sunshine, gorgeous.

We went down (well up,) to do some landings at another local lake (lacking the surrounding houses, noise etc,) That lake is at 3,100 ft. There was just a slight breeze, perfect. Jemima was off and up in just no time. SO, glassy water does make a difference in drag, considerably.

We flew back through a pass, Jemima was struggling to hold 6,000 ft, 'That's all we'll need' he said, the snowy glacier slipped under by about 100 ft, then it was downhill all the way home.

Afterwards I flew Jemima back to Pemberton, Mike lent me a portable intercom to try on my MicroAir radio. It did seem to cut out a fair bit of cockpit noise and pretty well all the engine interference, I had hoped not to buy an intercom, more money, more money! Oh yes, those manual drums do damn all when they are wet.

Next time I'll try and remember the camera.
