At NWSA back around 98-2000 we tried several exhaust systems and did some R&D on our own muffler design etc.. After all the time and money the Orcarey ended up with the Titan exhaust, not the SS one but the mild steel version that is no longer offered I believe. The early Titan SS systems were of poor quality SS, they have since upgraded to a better quality SS and don't seem to be having any problems. We had the mild steel version coated with 'AL Ceramic' coating at a place that does that kind of thing for race cars etc.; after doing some noise DB level tests on Curt Bryan's and my aircraft we found that by trimming the 'stinger' on the Titan system and mounting it so it pointed straight up there was an obvious improvement in noise level from the exhaust, both in 'taxi' and 'flyby / over'. Rotax only rates the 912S at 100hp when using the Rotax 'intake' airbox and their exhaust system.... has anyone tried to use their intake air box on the Searey?
