Jemima is for sale.

With great regret I have decided to move on. As far as flying is concerned building and operating Jemima has been pretty well what I hoped for but I am feeling increasingly isolated up here and just a little too far from Vancouver to make friends in the general Floatplane /Amphibian community.

Jemima.

86.8 Hrs
Silver flashes over bright yellow.
C Hull
912S
Electric Gear with Automatic locking bars.
Currently Empty weight 924lbs.
900lbs floatation in hull and wingtips. Reinforced (nearly indestructible) front deck.
Drop rudder
Left and right dual throttles.
Electric flaps
Full flap and trim indication.
Original throttle lever operates brakes
Cabin heater,
Bye pass bilge pump for mooring
Stobes (She is wired for Nav lights but they are not installed.)
Micro Air Radio
EIS Engine monitor
Always Hangared and flown from tarmac.
Gas Tank is modified to use full capacity.

Your basic problem is easily solved without resorting to such a draconian measure, Chris. Get a winter place here in Central Florida. I promise to make Frank keep his alligator under control!

    Dan,
We just about did. Christine reckoned we could spend three months there over next Summer and we were just deciding if we could fly her or if we'd have to put her on a trailer. We've also been totting up the cost of moving there permanently but our youngest is only 11 and hanging on to the dream and getting the satisfaction for only three months a year over another seven or eight years doesn't really add up.

For those 3 months you could get a good deal on rent. Most folks head north, missing out on the midday heat and some beautiful morning/evening flights. Don't wait. In another 10 years Florida will be paved over anyway. (And, more bad news, the military is looking to make the most spectacular undeveloped property along the gulf coast into a bombing range. Anyone who hasn't flown the gulf coast between St. Petersburg and Panama City should do it soon!)

    Dan
CD is still trying, today she got a contract through for a really lovely deal on the rent, pool, servicing etc. You know when your wife says, 'I;m only looking, it's not a commitment' Well back in February she said that abouta Eurail pass. Guess who just went to Europe for five weeks!

Chris, my wife gave me an ultimatum, she said 'it's the plane or me!. I'm sure gonna miss her.!!

Seriously, Chris, I hope that you can work it out to keep Jemima. She is a beautiful plane and we need you analytical wit on the site as well.

    How much are you asking?????

Chris Vernon-Jarvis - Jul 28,2004 Viewers | Reply
    Eric
$ 65K US

Eric Kiernan - Jul 29,2004 Viewers | Reply
WOW!! Ok...65K. Hum....This is better better investment then real estate..

Chris Vernon-Jarvis - Jul 29,2004 Viewers | Reply
Well what is a Seasrey worth? If you undersell it then everyone's investment is worth less.

Jemima is finished, flies hands off and trims out in all flight modes. At 80+ hours she is mint but well tested. I'm going to miss her but we need to get on with life so I'm open to offers.

Real Estate? If I could build planes like real estate I'd do it for a living. 850 hours at $0 equals $0 /hour.
My partially completed Searey has been for sale, and just about everyone who's called or emailed about it seem to have the attitude that I have no right to include my labor in the price. They seem to think they can get it for the price at purchase, or even less....as if my work has DEVALUED the kit somehow. This is the attitude I've seen. My asking price, including work done so far on it (75, and options, is about the same as PA's current basic new kit price w/o options....and still this is not good enough for them. I have gotten quite tired of these 'tire kickers' looking for a good deal. Good luck in selling yours, Chris.

Charlie Huskey - Jul 29,2004 Viewers | Reply
It has been my experience in selling Chutes is to advertise as FIRM on price that you have to have for the item. If you leave it open as willing to take less, every tire kicker on earth will call and aggravate the HELL out of you.

Charlie Huskey - Jul 29,2004 Viewers | Reply
BUT OF COURSE, I have never been guilt of tire kicking. OH ME, me nose is growing. HEHHEHHEHH

    Chris,
Sorry to hear the news, hope you get your price, but gonna miss your help on these and other pages. Your labor increased the value of mine since I've used your tips!
Frank
