Welcome To Garner's Landing
Driving and flying directions.
Garner's Landing is a private seaplane base and can be found on VFR terminal aeronautical charts
for the Tampa/Orlando area. The identifier is 1FL 0.
Garner's Landing is located at N28:06.600 W081:48.8000. in the Northwest corner of Lake Arietta,
at 817 Arietta Drive, Auburndale, Florida. our phone is 863-968-9898.
Lake Arietta is over one mile across and has lakefront homes on the West, East, and South ends.
The north end is cow pasture. Depending on the wind direction we would ask that you refrain from
making approaches over homes and/or boaters, although the boating is usually light.
We will be monitoring air to air frequency 123.375 and 122.7 for (GIF-Winter Haven Airport)
during the Gathering. There is a wind sock located lakeside.
Garner's Landing is located
The I-4 runs between Orlando and Tampa. From the I-4 take exit 44 (old exit 21) south, this is State
Road 559 or (Polk City Rd). Go approximately 3.6 miles and turn right onto Gapway Rd. Go 11/2
miles (at about the 11/4 mile marker on Gapway Rd. if you look to your left you can see Garner=s
Landing across the cow pasture. It's the big gray house on the lake) to the stop sign and turn left
onto Berkley Rd. which is State Rd. 655 going south. Go one quarter mile and turn left onto Arietta
Boulevard. This is a short street.
At the stop sign turn right onto Eugena Drive another short street and a left onto Anderson Drive,
which at the next corner turns into Arietta Drive as you turn left. Our house is at the next corner
which is the corner of Arietta Drive and Grimes Drive.
From Winter Haven Airport turn left out of the airport, which is 21 Street N. W. This winds around
to Highway 92. Turn left onto Hwy 92. Go 4.2 miles. Turn right onto Berkley Rd. which is State Rd.
655 going north. Go 3.7 miles and then turn right onto Arietta Blvd. This is a short street. At the stop
sign turn right onto Eugena Drive another short street and a left onto Anderson Drive which at the
next corner turns into Arietta Drive as you turn left. Our house is at the next corner which is the
corner of Arietta Drive and Grimes Drive.
Most of the motels in the area are located in Winter Haven on Highway 17. There is a new Super
8 Motel located about 3/4 of a mile East of the Winter Haven Airport, as the crow flies, but you
wouldn't want to try walking to it. The Super 8 is located at 2275 8th St. and Highway 17 NW. The
phone number is 863- 401-8211.
The other three motels we would recommend are the Holiday Inn. of Winter Haven, at 1150 3rd St
SW which is Hwy 17. The phone number is 863 294 4451. The Howard Johnson is next door, the
phone number is 863 294-7321. The Days Inn is located at 200 Cypress Gardens Blvd. Call
800-DAYS-INN or 863 299-1151 The Days Inn is a half mile south of the Holiday Inn on Cypress
Gardens Blvd. There are many restaurants located on Cypress Gardens Blvd.
A note on the parking on the street near our house. Please park so that our neighbors can get out of
their driveways. We will have signs and red cones out in the places that we can park cars on Arietta
Drive. and Grimes Drive.

Hello Russ,
My name is Ekkehard Kaliebe and I consider myself part of the SeaRey family since I purchased a SeaRey in 2003, shipped it over to Germany and flew it there until selling it to a friend of mine a year ago who shipped it over to Africa! Meanwhile a second Searey - this time as a kit - is in Germany and ... is fighting with their bureaucracy waiting for the approval to start being built!
So on Sunday I will come with my Renegade (apologize for it) and hope to meet all the enthousiastic friends of this outstanding, fun offering Amphib SeaRey! Looking forward meeting you at 'Garner's landing' - Ekkehard

    Russ and Lou Ann,
The North Florida Squadron (currently down to 2 flying) will be there Sunday Morning. Tom Dorsey, in his dark blue SR, and I along with passengers in each will depart early, and probably stop at Bob White to regroup for the final sorty to Garner's. Count on four souls for spagetti. See ya' soon.
