Mark,

I fell in love with the Osprey and wanted one ( found one in Pontiac,Mich. ) UNTIL ..... I learned that it is a dangerous plane for a low time pilot ( less than 4000 hrs ) because it has no flaps and should be landed near 90 mph. This I was told by the instructor of this plane.
Sooooo ..... I fell in love with the Searey. ( Smart )

Terry, I know what you mean, I fell in love with the Anderson Kingfisher. Guess we both wised up.

Actually went and looked/sat in this plane before I bought Marks kit. It is hard to get out of the plane, and the seating position is pretty cramped.I also heard it wasn't for low timepilot's. Less money then I havein my notyet ready Searey!

Jim, I understand the builder is in his 80's. Last I knew, he was looking for someone to do first flight in it. Do you know if it's flown?

I know I'd hate to see what would happen if that canopy opened in flight.

Been flying my Stingray a little, until our May monsoon season hit....

    Mark
I saw it just about a year ago. It hadn't flown then. It was finished, but not assembled at that point.

    Mark

While at James Clemonts airport ( Bay City, Mich. ) I spotted an Osprey up on jacks for repair.
The pilot took on too much of a cross wind on the runway and the r.h. landing gear leg bent and twisted at the raise and lower linkage. He is lucky it didn't collapse totally. One more reason for not owning an Osprey.
