Fly In at Bob White (X61) on Oct 28th. Burgers/hot dogs/ cold drinks around noon. Look for Catherders near hangar 27 afterwards for auto fuel. CTAF 122.8 MHz. As always we'll monitor Gator 123.375 during sorties.

    Jon,

Do you need any help setting up?

The fly-in is sponsored by the owner (Pete Counsel) and the local A&P (Glen) at X61. They provide the free food and drinks. (A small donation would be appreciated.) If you come early you can help chase the mice out of the hangar!

Sorry to say, I won't be able to fly in, or for that matter, drive into X61. I did spend several months there a couppla years ago and would love to be part of such a gathering. It is unnecessary to say it, but anyway, have fun...and say hello to Peter for me - great guy.

Saturday is looking pretty good for the fly in. I'll have fuel if you need it for the return flight. If burgers don't thrill you the Tiki Hut can accomodate 2 - 3 planes and O'Keefes probably 8 - 10. Stop in at hangar 19 or 27 to talk to a Catherder.

Hey Jon, if the weather is bad on Saturday do you think the X61 flyin will be moved to Sunday?

Bruce Bennett - Oct 27,2006 Viewers | Reply
Russ, looks like the weather will be bad, raining and very windy; at least in our neck of the woods, on the Ocean side. Judy

Hey Bruce, 10 AM. Saturday. It's not looking to good this
morning, the wind will pick up as the low goes by.
Sunday might be a good day if the wind dies down.
I don't think Jon can eat all those hambugers.

We had a light turn out because of the weather but several planes made it including Joe Friend and Rob Reiche in Seareys. PC Russell and Dan Nickens drove in. Hopefully we'll have better weather next time.

    YO-- jON
I wish I had more notice.... I'm stillin Kentucky, but I plan to fly from KY to FL on monday the 30th thru 31st if all goes well .. tell all the FL guys that the Winter games are about to begin.... Lots of trips to Gator Joes etc.. The ohio river is near flood stage, with lots of debris and floating trees and refigerators from W VA but I should be a cool challenge to dodge them and get airborne. Wish me luck and I cant wait to see lyou guys real soon.
Bob Toerner
