I suspect that this is probably mostly wishful thinking, as the museum doesn't appear to have any seaplanes of its own and just failed in its attempt to purchase one of the two Martin Mars still flying--but if you're in the Baltimore area on 12 May it might be fun to go find out: http://www.marylandaviationmuseum.org/seaplane/index.html

It looks like the Martin Mars have been sold and happy to say that they will be staying at Sproat Lake in BC. Another aviation fire fighting company has purchased them and intent to keep them flying as water bombers for a while longer. Had my chance many years ago when they called me back for my second interview but the airlines had called in between and I was of in a different direction. Sure would like to have strapped on one of those birds, if I only was about twenty years younger. Life is just too short!

Fred, I was happy to see that the Mars will keep on flying instead of being filed away in a museum.
