Those off us getting to our golden years might appreciatte this little incident that happened to me today. I have been commuting with my searey to the King George airpark most of the summer when the weather will allow me. The flight is less then 15 minutes compared to 45 minutes by car. This morning departed about noon and called Langley tower to clear through their zone, when the tower commented that my radio sounded a little fuzzy. That got me thinking how that could be especially with my new Bose. Then it hit me, asked for a 180 and back home. My dogs gave me the strangest look and did'nt even get off the deck, usually they are at the canal to meet me but then they know it is feeding time. Did not have to explain to Beverly that I forgot my wallet as she is visiting the kids in England and Italy. So was able to pick up my teeth and off again. The tower commended that what ever I did it is now 5 by 5. Told her that it was a highly technical quick repair. I might tell her the truth when the tower has their open house at Chrismas.
Still trying to figure out what is so golden about getting older.

Cheers Fred

Well Fred, At least you didn't bite off more than you can chew.
I agree with you....these ' golden ' years ain't what they are cracked up to be. Beats the alternative though.

Are you sure this beats the alternative?

Fred, that is really funny. It might be added to the trouble shooting guide for comm avionics. I have a
similar funny story that happened to me but...I forget what it is.

Funny! Ha. It's down right dangerous. This story (and associated comments) caused me to blow my morning kool aid through my nose.

I thought getting older was defined as: 'getting long in the tooth'...
I know the feeling. I wish I had a nickel for every time I walked up the hill to my shop to get something for the plane and forgot what it was I came after. I write it down now.
