Not at all pleased with the move to Fantasy of Flight location for this year's splash-in.
1. Parking way too far from the water and Fantasy of Flight buildings.
2. Hot!!! with no shade.
3. Zero seating facilities, lugging chairs and coolers that distance a pain.
4. No food, ran out of most of everything before lunch including drinks and water.
5. One port a potty, full @ 10:am and filthy.
6. Poor attendance, too far from Sun N Fun?
7. $5 parking fee, why? Volunteers did the work.
8. Almost out of T shirts @ 10:am
9. Exhibits and vendors, where were you? The list goes on and on, comments anyone? Maybe some complaining will get us back to Lake Parker where life was good!
Just my thoughts,
John Matthews

I agree about all of that, John, and add that it's a long way from KLAL. On the other hand, the beach is nice, the ramp is very good for amphibs, and there's plenty of room for camping. And no cypress trees growing just offshore to snag wings. And all of the problems are easy to correct (except the distance). Of course, we could petition SNF to build a water runway at the main show.

As I have never been to the other seaplane base I can't compare but I spent three days camping at FOF and enjoyed the easy access and ability to go out and play with the rey at will. I think Weeks can and will do more to make a better venue, As a camper the cow dung was a nuisance ( I still smell cows when I use my pillow) and obviously unmarked pot holes in the field. Along with the other listed problems corrected I think it could be a great splashin site.
