I know that I've flown over Greenwood lake. It straddles NJ & NY and since NJ is a no-water landing state, you land on the North end and can taxi into NJ waters. Since opening up NJ to seaplanes would be in everyone's best interest, I'd encourage folks to attend and make it a good time!

How about a quarter to lunch?

Well, probably not--although there might be more to the splash-in than the official website lets on. Clicking on the 'Register' link there got me to this site: http://www.faasafety.gov/SPANS/event_details.aspx?eid=20711

That page makes it sees as though our friends at the FAA are taking it seriously. Whether that will make it good splash-in or not is anyone's guess.
