Very cool, Charlie! And 18 seconds from power-up to flying isn't bad at all for a behemoth like that. There's a lot of more modern seaplanes that don't do as well. I love the sound of those slow-turning engines.

They made a few show taxis before take off. They are using newly rebuilt XO6 said to be getting about 110 HP each

Hey Charlie- sorry I couldn't make it down - bad weather conspired against me the whole weekend. Low IFR on Friday night when I was trying to get to Hammondsport and high winds in Buffalo on Sunday for the Owasco lake fly in -Thanks for the video links - I love the nostalgia of Hammondsport and to have the Ktitty Hawk of seaplanes in my own back yard

Sorry I didn't make it for that flight, Charlie - had an airline ticket, car, hotel, everything, but got sidetracked and spent the weekend in the hospital - no problem, just watching nurses.
