Seaplane Pilots Association honors pilot of US Airways Flight 1549

Capt. Chelsey Sullenberger, the pilot who ditched USAirways Flight 1549 into the Hudson River Jan. 15, was given a lifetime membership to the Seaplane Pilots Association.
Sullenberger successfully guided Flight 1549 to a landing after birds damaged both engines. All 155 passengers and crew survived. Jon Brown, the SPA’s field director, offered Sullenberger a complimentary seaplane rating course at Jack Brown’s Seaplane Base in Winter Haven.
Incorporated in 1971, the SPA is an international nonprofit organization based in Lakeland. It aims to represent the interests of the seaplane community on federal, state and local levels and handles safety, education and environmental stewardship.

A case of shameless self-promotion by SPA and Brown if I've ever seen one. Good on them.
