I just got one of those Smartphones (blackberry) with GPS and all kindsa stuff.

I put on Fltplan's Airport/FBO info guide, which allows me to look up airport info without needing to be online.
Its free.

http://wh83.fltplan.com/FltDeckGuide.htm

I added a few other apps, every time I needed something that was for sale, I was able to find a similar app for free.

Any of you geeks out there recommend any apps or site for aviation stuff?
E6B', weather, etc. ???

Pilot My-Cast is my fav. I'm paying Verizon $9 a month, I think, but it's worth every penny. It shows weather, including 'real-time' radar, lightning, wind, ceiling, viz--everything you need. It has flight planning, with route times adjusted for the wind and time, and you can even file a DUATS flight plan with it. It works in flight if you're close enough to a digital cell. USA only, though. Owned by Garmin.

Tony, what is the best free weather application you have found?

    I found one.

http://www.fltplan.com/cell.htm

Gives METAR's, Terminal Forcasts, NOTAMS, 'current' radar, and it is free. Just navigate your smart phone to the web site above and enter an airport ID

Google maps is an awesome app for BB.

For weather I also use:

http://206.183.1.150/texis/fp/cell/?q=kipj

and
http://mobile.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForeca
st?brand=mobile_english&query=clt

and (same site)
http://www.wunderground.com/Aviation/#METAR

Other non related apps I like are Backgammon, Mobi pocket reader, myalarm (to set multiple alarms - something the BB is lacking) and buzzme (makes it ring and vibrate simultaneously - getting rid of that annoying delay in the ringing) and opera mini for viewing those websites that are not mobile friendly.

For Apple iPhone 3G - Airbox Runway works for 28,000 runways, gives heading, speed, altitude, bearing, distance and time to destination. www.airboxaero.com
