Technical information and accident analyses are important to the safety of seaplane operations. There are several sites where these discussions are encouraged. This is not one of them. If you want information on joining the other technically oriented sites, please contact any of the site administrators.

Randy - Searey owners are encouraged to join the Searey technical site. I'm sure other sites can be found with a google search. Folks considering purchasing a searey would be wise to fly with the factory AND try to hook up with a searey owner on this site for a 1 on 1 visit that might turn into a ride but would likely lead to frank talk about the owners experience with the plane.

Okay, I appreciate that and yes I got a great flight in a Searey courtesy of Jim Ratte. What I want to know is what went wrong in this particular incident. Not for ghoulish curiosity but to find out what failed or did not fail in this case. But it looks like this is not the place for that and since I am not a builder and I do not have access to the builder's website. So I guess I will have to wait a year and read about it on the NTSB's website.

...or you could step up Randy, and join the fraternity! You only live once and you can't take it with you.

Have we been overlooking the new Serious Seaplane Site (SSS) for this?
