This morning, an/the ICON spoiled my months long record of being the only seaplane operating in the harbor. It was definitely puttting on a show with sharp nose ups and near sixty degree banks just after high speed low passes. There were multiple full stops also. Although it is a big harbor, the show was confined to the waters closest to the Queen Mary and yacht basin.

While the Icon looks good, I think the SeaRey looks better and 'happier'.

Yep, and I believe the Icon is still without any gear, just a straight boat-plane. Last I heard they haven't figured out how to make it work within the LSA weight limits with retractable gear, too much weight in their fancy wing fold mechanism.

The Tri-Pacer driver in the next T hanger reports that, on the day the ICON was in the harbor, T. Cruise and crew were there filming a scene for 'Knight and Day'. Apparently the scene called for Cruise to be chased down the 'old Navy Brig' breakwater and make an escape by jumping into the ICON.
Gotta love Long Beach!

Editor Needed and filled by wife: She suggests that I stick to airplanes and leave the celebrity reporting to her. 'Knight and Day' is in the 'can'. The recent filming was for 'The Hardy Men.'
