The Stillwater Landing Gatherering is a 3 day seaplane splash-in, musical festival and celebration of life on Lower Stillwater Lake, Montana. See weblink for details. Our Searey Adventure to Stillwater Landing and other scenic spots in northwest USA covered 2218 nm in 29.8 hours of scenic Searey flying over 6 days, while meeting some other friendly pilots and their planes. Here are a few highlights.

Carolyn and I loaded up our Searey with camping gear and flew from Minden, NV to Bonner's Ferry, Idaho to accept Bob Loosemore's invitation to 'stop by some time'. On the second day we followed Bob's Searey along some of his favorite flying routes on the Kootenai River, Lake Koocanusa and the Stillwater River to Stillwater Landing on Lower Stillwater Lake, bearing 289º and 12.3 nm from Whitefish, Montana (58S)

Bob and I found a good spot and tied our Seareys to the embankment and pitched our tents just above the Seareys. Stillwater Landing has DSL, WiFi, a hot shower, food available. Unleaded premium fuel is available at the Searey friendly dock at the marina at Whitefish Lake 12 nm away.

The music was performed on a lakeside pavillion with pilots and public seated on a grassy amphitheater. Catered food and drink were available.

Leaving Stillwater Landing, we flew to breakfast at the Holland Lake Lodge in the Swan River Valley, Montana. If you prefer a steak, fly 17 miles further to Lindey's Landing West SPB (M35) at Seeley Lake, Montana. Best steak in the west!

After breakfast Carolyn and I flew on to visit family in Wyoming for a couple days, then on the way back to Nevada flew through Flaming Gorge reservior. It is open to seaplanes with lodging, marinas, camping, fishing and colorful scenery.
