We are thinking of flying to Key West and possibly the Dry Tortugas after Garner's Landing this year.

Has anyone flown to either location with their SeaReys before? Any tips or suggestions?

Dave we have made numerous trips to the Keys, always a fun time. Make sure you check your charts and notams if you decide to fly into Key West International Airport.
It is located next to The Naval Airstation. They have an approach control, I have found if you call them roughly thirty miles out, it is a very easy transition. Everyone is real friendly and the tower loves Seareys....

Going to the Dry Tortugas you'll have to go through a National Defense Operating Area, cross the ADIZ, enter the Tortugas MOA and land at a National Park. There is a designated seaplane landing lane at the park and you aren't supposed to operate outside designated areas. The only phone at the park is a satellite phone and very expensive (your cell phone won't work). The park is very cool and there's a good beach, but be careful of the tides. It's all doable, but you need to be prepared. (My information is several years old. If I were going again I'd talk with the guys at Key West Seaplanes. They were very helpful.) Attachments:

    Dan,
Looking at the picture on the attachment, where are you supposed to beach a Searey.
