I read that the PA group has much to be satisfied about.

Yesterday SeaRey LS amphibian airplane passed FAA LSA Audit for first make and model with
only minor findings. According to the FAA AIR-200 audit team (aircraft certification service
branch), the first LSA manufacturer they have audited here in the US or abroad to not have a
major finding or a critical finding. They termed it 'commendable' and 'a pleasure to be here'.
Good to know hard work and engineering proof and systems engineering pays off. For me and
SilverLight Aviation engineers it was a blistering pace of work and progress after taking the
project over from another engineering consultancy firm and finding things rather not to snuff.
Read more about it
http://www.bydanjohnson.com/

Congrats to the whole Progressive Aerodyne team and congrats to my team members, Dan
Saunders (Mechanical engineer and Solid Works extra-ordinairre), Laurent Thevenot
(Mechanical and structural engineer and my good friend from France), Stacey (IT and technical
documentation) from SilverLight Aviation's team.

http://www.searey.com

We found FAA auditors very reasonable.
Abid Farooqui
SilverLight Aviation
http://www.silverlightaviation.com

Congratulations to all involved. We all know the Searey is a great
aeroplane but nice to see that rubber stamped by an independent
engineering study and a government agency.

Thanks, Jackye. How's your local SeaRey getting along by now?

    Thanks Don,
I've been very excited to see my trike (& now gyro) flying friend Abid, and his team work
out the process for PA to the FAA's satisfaction. It will now improve the possibilities for
getting SLSA standard instruction for those that can provide the training. And possibly
increase the values of your planes! I know it's been a real bear for so many instructors
to acquire a LODA for training with the aircraft that once was totally compliant. My local
SeaRey pilot is in the process of arranging dates wx permitting for a Practical and Oral,
with a reasonably nearby Examiner, but has been enjoying his SeaRey mostly when the
air is smooth. Once he's got all the permanent cards & letters and oodles of log book
entries I'll look forward to flying with him. I'll just have to wait 'til then.
Jackye
