Key West flight 17-18 Jan (maybe 20-21 Jan)
I'm having my 50th birthday in Jan and my old high school buddy is having his in Dec. I plan to fly with him in my Searey to Key West for an overnight and a fun flight around that area.

Would be happy to share with others. I have to be home 19 Jan as it's the big 50 party at the house.

From Tampa, it's 5 hours flying so figure stopping for lunch 1/2 way and then just exploring around down there the rest of the day. Visit Dry Tortuga first thing the 2nd day and then take a leisurely path home.

I know others have done this and would be happy for advice. I think someone said something about a permit needed?

We took two Seareys to Fort Jefferson, dry Tortuga last year. Had a great time. You do need to get
permission from the US park service and pay their fee-- it is expensive. Talk to the float plane outfit in
Key West about conditions and restricted landing areas.
Jim garrett
