Wayne, I finally got my registration back. I can go, what do you think the weather sounds like. I see on the Aviation Weather website they're predicting light winds on Fri and calm Sat and Sun.

Sebring 0 percent chance of rain....winds NW at 5 ...you can't beat that!<br />I was thinking Sebring early for breakfast...then over to Lake Jackson for lunch? (Yep, I <br />know, it seems to always have a 'food angle' :-)

Phil, we did this once a few years ago where I joined up with you guys by keeping tabs on your progress down the 27 from north of me. I'll try to keep tabs on you guys as you fly down on 123.375 if you give me a shout when you get close.

Ask them to park you on the ramp. We did a 3 ship today in the RVs and they had us park on the east <br />closed runway and take a shuttle. There appeared to be plenty of ramp space available and later they <br />were asking planes where they wanted to park.

Russ Garner - Jan 17,2014   Viewers  | Reply
Didn't make it to the Expo today. After a got the plane out to leave and during the preflight I noticed the right gear leg boot had split open. More on this on STS when I cool down.

We missed you , Russ. The SeaReys definitely ruled the skies today at Sebring. As we <br />taxied out there were five in a row waiting to depart.

Thanks Thomas. Coincidentally (or not) the first photo I always took was the entrance, exactly as yours. Glad to see Jim Ratte out there, and Oh how I'd love that Mega Hatch!<!-- >'"><br><font color=red size=6>' or &gt; missing in user HTML. Please fix the HTML.</font> -->

Dang, Tom, I'm sorry I missed you. (that's me talking to the guy with the backpack and my back to the camera, wearing one of Jim's Recreational Mobility shirts.) I came down to ask him some questions and stayed to help out in his booth over the weekend.

Thomas Alexander Bowden - Jan 20,2014   Viewers  | Reply
Crap, Jim should have told me you were there. We would have talked for an hour.

Bruce McGregor - Jan 18,2014   Viewers  | Reply
We missed Skip too. As Wayne notes, lots of SeaReys there. Approaching the Lake Jackson initial point, I heard a flight of two SeaReys and another of three talking to approach control. Later in the pattern I had caught up and had four SeaReys in front of me.<P>Although only 38F when my passenger and I took off, we were comfortable flying south into the Florida sun with an OAT of 53F (inversion). The solar greenhouse effect works well in a SeaRey. At Sebring the temps warmed quickly into the mid-60s.<P>The Seaplane Pilots Association booth had a drawing of its planned new headquarters next to the Winter Haven, FL airport. Located on the shore of Lake Hartridge, it will have a long dock for floatplanes and a ramp and paved parking area for amphibs. The parking area will connect to the airport's runways too.<P>The SPA is in fund raising mode now. A donor can buy a large engraved brick for a $1,000. Wayne and I tried to talk them into a smaller more affordable brick without success, at least for now. But the rep said we could combine donations to buy a large one with multiple names!<!-- >'"><br><font color=red size=6>' or &gt; missing in user HTML. Please fix the HTML.</font> -->
