This is all second hand information from another Long Beach seaplane owner and friend:

My friend said he received a telephone call from a person who claimed to be associated with the FBI.

The caller asked about my friend’s seaplane operations in the harbor on a certain day last month. Apparently, an oil tanker captain complained about seaplanes operations in “his” anchorage (which is smack dab in the center of the Spruce Goose’s epic flight path.)

There is a meeting scheduled for next week at the FBI offices.

The caller ended by saying, “We may have to eliminate seaplane operations in the harbor.”

It just ain’t getting any easier, my friends.
Tom, I cannot give you any info re your "Complaints". But I'll offer another true story from CA for whatever value it may have.
A good friend built an RV in SOCAL. After flying it for a few years, he wanted to fulfill his temptation to buzz his home. A few days later he received a letter from the 'FAA", return address OK and all formal looking. He near panicked.
Turns out, some resourceful neighbor spotted his N Number, used the FAA data base, got his name and address, and sent him the letter to warn him.
Not saying Long Beach is the same, and I'm certainly no attorney, but I wonder about a) using the mail for fraudulent purposes, and b) impersonating an FBI agent.
Hope for a good outcome for you all.<!-- >'">
' or > missing in user HTML.
