I went to this two years ago and it was a blast! We had two Seareys there among many other seaplanes.

This year, they're having it on a Friday, to avoid the weekend boat and beach crowd problem.

NOTE: The correct date is listed on SPA's online calendar, but their printed WaterFlying magazine mistakenly has two dates listed. June 20th is the correct date.

If you find the given lat and lon coordinates confusing, use: 34deg02.07, -081deg19.11. Will show on Google Earth.

JUNE 20, 2014
South Carolina: Seaplane Splash-In, Lake Murray. N34.02-070 W081.19-110. This wonderful social gathering, which began in 2012, is from 9am–5pm. Hamburgers, brats, & drinks provided. Please bring a dish to share. Unicom 123.40. This is one of the lakes that Jimmy Doolittle and his pilots used to practice bombing for the Tokyo Raid. In fact, just recently they recovered a B-25 from the lake! Just look for the Seabees on the beach. Contact ET Edgar Tello 704-491-3152, etseabee@yahoo.com.
