Here's how five Seareys and a Cub go to lunch in Virginia. (The Cub pilot used to have a Searey, too.)      Attachments:

Some amazing shots in your video, Don. We need your skills here today. We have three (maybe
4) Seareys, an Alegro and a Widgeon (and maybe an Aircam) flying to Stanton's BBQ in
Bennettsville, SC for lunch. Then an hour northwest to York, SC for ice-cream. But my equipment
and camera skills are no match for yours.

Well, no comparison to Mr. Maxwell's stuff but we had a good time. Six planes but only three
Seareys. I think the Widgeon ought to count for several seaplanes, though.

Dennis, you're probably right about that Wigeon-to-Searey ratio. But the two events are the same.

I tried finding Stanton's BBQ on googlemaps--typed in stanton's bbq and immediately saw the suggestion, stanton's bbq bennettsville south carolina. Clicked on that and Goodwin's Mill Pond on the road map. But only woods on the satellite map--but a grass runway. What's with that?

It's a mowed field across the road from the restaurant. Not on the sectional but you know it's a real
runway 'cause it has a real windsock! Here's a link to their site with some videos of folks landing.
Scroll to the bottom and click
on the 'Find Us' link. Shows Lat/Long.

Thanks, Dennis. It's good to know of uncharted eats like that. 200 nm is a bit far for lunch--but I've set a waypoint for when I'm passing through.

Dennis, all I have is a few mediocre cameras and a GoPro 7. And an iPhone Xs Max (which isn't a mediocre camera at all).

I've been having fun finding some of the tricks in Apple's Final Cut Pro video editor--which did cost some money, but is quite powerful. Its basic functions are intuitive, but it does so many things so well that there's a lot to discover and learn. One I've become fond of recently is its ability to zoom in on any portion of a video and make a distant small thing fill the screen. An example in the Lunch video is a shot near the end, where one Searey (Scott) is climbing out of the top of the frame. That was filmed by the Cub pilot, Lindsay. He was disappointed by his videos, but shouldn't have been. Here's a frame from his original video and (almost--I can't find the exact one today) the same frame as Final Cut Pro zoomed in on it:

Yes, it's much lower-resolution than the original, but it works just fine in the Lunch video.

But that's the point at which the Lunch video departs reality: Scott was just climbing to take some photos of the rest of us, and I was the one who, about a minute later, departed the group because I was due at home. The other guys flew on together for another 15 minutes, or so, turning north up the Chickahominy River. I could still hear them on the radio when I reached our house on the James, some 30 miles west. But I had no imagery from that part of the sortie and ended up fudging reality to bring some kind of conclusion to the Lunch video.
