Given Veteran's Day is about the end of WW1, it got me thinking of the US WW1 flyers that Samuel Hynes writes of in “The
Unsubstantial Air - American Flyers in The 1st World War.” Those surviving flyers spent the months following the end of
hostilities hedge hopping down the French countryside and rivers, just as we do when out playing with our SeaReys.

When those surviving military pilots came home, they formed the "Order of Daedalians" to look after the families of those
that did not return. https://www.daedalians.org/about/

So it seems a proper Veterans Day tribute to the spirit of those early flyers is to go up and do some SeaRey flying.

Working on the ‘Rey today, thinking about the people in my old units and some of our many
deployments. (And my dad who
served in WWII.)

A bald eagle decided to fly lazy circles over my head right then and the timing couldn’t have been
more perfect. Flags all down the street in our neighborhood leaving me grateful for our many hard-won
freedoms.
