We see mostly Seareys here on Splash and Dash--but the second part of the site's name is "...Seaplane Delights." All right, here's a Beaver Seaplane Delight that I happened across recently that seems just plain normal and comforting. Maybe its placidity suggests something of the Searey Delights difference.

You can't. Sammie would be over max gross weight with just the engine and no prop, pax, or fuel; and each one of those nine big fat jugs (5-3/16" bore and stroke) has more displacement (109 cu in) than your entire 912S (82.6 cu in).
