Like Shannon, I had a surprise shadow wingman. The main difference is that my surprise occurred at solar noon, and my shadow made several 360s with me.      Attachments:

But you don't get a song like Shannon did.

Once again this raises the question if these shadows are useful for glassy water landings. If they are below or behind you, could a mirror be used to see them? And of course this is no good on cloudy days...

Aw, Paul, you don't know the half of it. Carol and I came across a vinyl recording of that song bound into a magazine we found in Budapest the year it was popular all over Europe. We hadn't heard anything by the group, but knew it was popular because we read about it in the Herald Tribune. (We were music-starved that year.) The inscription on the label was the only thing in the magazine not written in Hungarian. We thought, Oh boy, an English record! Tossed the mag and carried the floppy record all over the continent without ever hearing it played--but it sounded terrific in our imaginations. A year later we were living in Spain and scrounged up a record player, just to hear this marvelous English band. Well! It was quite a surprise--not at all what we had imagined. But it became sort of an anthem for us, and not entirely because it was our only record. I think we still have that vinyl floppy... somewhere.

Shannon, I've never tried to set up a video like that. It just happened and I saw it later. But it ought to be easy enough to plan if you pay attention to the sun and camera angles. You did that nicely with your second go at your shadow landing.
